Job Description

Electromyography Technologist required for a private practice office in Edmonton. The EMG technologist will work independently with one neurologist, to perform nerve conduction studies for a variety of patients.

​

Responsibilities

The EMG technologist is responsible to explain the test to the patient and provide patient comfort and reassurance.
The technologist performs the electrodiagnostic studies requested by the physician including motor and sensory nerve conduction studies, F waves, H reflexes, and repetitive stimulation.
The technologist is also responsible for maintaining the EMG rooms, infection control standards, and maintaining the equipment.
The EMG technologist transfers the EMG waveforms to the electronic medical record system and proofreads the final reports.
The technologist must be comfortable working independently and have exemplary verbal communication skills.

The Lab

Westmount neurology is a college accredited EMG laboratory in Edmonton, Alberta. There is currently one physician and 1 technologist who have been working together since 2006. The current technologist is retiring.
Hours are flexible and can be adapted for part-time or full-time work. Holidays are also flexible. Compensation is highly competitive and varies based on experience.
The lab is situated in a small building on 124 street, which is a charming neighbourhood, with many independent shops and restaurants.
Many opportunities are available for collaboration within the Edmonton and Alberta neuromuscular community.
