Job Details
EMG Technologist full-time permanent role available, with extended benefits
-
Work alongside the physician to conduct and record nerve conduction studies; evaluate test results and provide test information for interpretation by the medical staff.

Operate a variety of digital equipment, adjust equipment during test processes and take appropriate measurements from test data produced in order to demonstrate whether abnormalities exist.

Formulates technical preliminary reports by performing duties such as analysing recordings, describing abnormal manifestations and forwarding impressions to the physicians for diagnosis.

Prepares for patient tests by reading referrals from physicians, reviewing case history, and assessing the nature of the problem to determine test approach.

Obtains patient history from the patient or family, explains procedure, attaches electrodes to appropriate areas and monitors patient's comfort to ensure patient is at ease while obtaining required results.

Ensures equipment is functioning correctly and reports any problems to the Medical Director and biomed for equipment servicing. Cleans machine and electrodes, calibrates equipment to ensure production of accurate records.

Maintains adequate inventory of supplies and equipment. Provides input into equipment acquisitions.

Recruit and train other EMG Technologists to support the team in the future, as needed.

You may be asked to be flexible in supporting the team as required from time to time with various projects and tasks outside an EMG Technologist’s standard job description.

Compensation: Depends on experience. Full-time permanent role is paid at a salaried rate

Qualifications
Required:
-
Graduation from or currently enrolled in a recognized program in Electroneurophysiology Technology

Certified, or will soon be eligible to be certified by the Board of Registered Electromyography Technologists of Canada (BRETC), or the American Board of Electrodiagnostic Medicine (ABEM), or the American Association of Electrodiagnostic Testing (AAET), with preference for the Canadian certification
-
We will consider training through the EMG Technologist certification process for the right candidate if not yet fully certified

Valid visa or citizenship status for permanent employment in Canada

Work is in person, Vancouver, BC V5Y 1K2

Reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
Nice to have but not required:

At least 1 year of work experience in an EMG facility

Experience using TELUS CHR (previously called “InputHealth”)
-
Experience with recruiting, training and/or managing other EMG Technologists is desirable
-
The ability to speak a second language is desirable

Enable Medical is a modern medical clinic located in Mount Pleasant, Vancouver. We are steps away from all transit options, bike routes, boutiques, breweries and restaurants.

Our clinic specializes in performing electromyography / nerve conduction studies. We use the Natus UltraPro S100 and we are an accredited facility for neurodiagnostics by the College of Physicians & Surgeons of British Columbia.

We are looking for EMG Technologists to work at the clinic Monday to Friday, generally from 8:30am - 4:30pm. We are closed weekends, evenings, and statutory holidays.

The clinic operates with one physician (Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Specialist) and a variety of supporting staff members.
-
