About Booth Neurology

Booth Neurology Clinic was founded in 2013 by Dr. T. Nguyen who opened the clinic with two associate neurologists.  Since then, the clinic has grown steadily and we have the largest Neurology group practice in the Ottawa area.  Our group of physicians provide consultation services in a several medical specialties including General Neurology, Parkinson’s and Movement Disorders, Neuromuscular disorders. Our services have expanded to include EMG and nerve conduction studies, as well as botox treatments for chronic migraines, spasticity and movement disorders.  We serve Ottawa and the surrounding areas in Eastern Ontario and the Outaouais region in Quebec.

Responsibilities

  • Perform electromyography and nerve conduction studies (NCS) as requested.

  • Prepare patients for procedures, ensuring comfort and explaining the process.

  • Record and analyze test results, collaborating with the physician for accurate interpretation.

  • Recognize and troubleshoot artifacts.

  • Document test results accurately and maintain detailed patient records.

  • Maintain equipment and ensure proper function, reporting any issues as needed.

  • Stay current with advancements in EMG technology through ongoing education.

Requirements

  • Experience performing NCS in a clinical setting is preferred, but not required.

  • Candidate must be licensed to work in Ontario.

  • Bilingualism is preferred but not required.

  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative healthcare team.

 

Job Type: Part time, between one to three days a week. Hours are weekdays, no evenings, weekends or holidays.

Salary determined on experience.

Job Details

The Mississauga Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (MINDS) is seekinig a full time EMG/EEG Technologist. Permanent role available, with extended benefits after three months.

The EMG/EEG Technologist is responsible for the performance of EMG studies on referred patients and for functions associated with daily operations of the EMG lab such as supplies inventory control and ordering. The EMG Technologist will prepare patients for and conduct standard nerve conduction studies, collect information pertinent to interpretation of the test and assist in the maintenance of the equipment. The EMG/EEG Technologist will collaborate with EMG/EEG lab physicians in planning and conducting the tests. â€‹

Primary Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for EMG examinations.

  • Completes nerve conduction studies in accordance with departmental protocols and best practices.

  • Assists the physician electromyographer in completion of the needle EMG assessment.

  • Ensure patient comfort and safety.

Job Type, Compensation & Benefits

  • Job type: Full-time permanent role available as of April 2026.

  • Weekdays, days.

  • Working location: Unit 9- 2145 Dunwin Drive, Mississauga, Ontario L5L 4L9

  • Compensation: Depends on experience. Full-time permanent role is paid at a salaried rate. Medical and dental benefits offered after three months.

 

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Electroneurodiagnostic Technology or Electromyography Technology program.

  • Registered or eligibility to register with Canadian Board of Registration of Electroneurophysiology Technologists (CBRET) or Board of Registered Electromyography Technologists of Canada (BRETC).

  • Membership with Canadian Association of Electroneurophysiology Technologists (CAET) is an asset.

  • Ability to perform EMG testing.

  • Minimum of 1 years of experience in performing both EEG and EMG tests.

  • Demonstrated ability to perform EMG testing.

  • Understanding of neuromuscular anatomy and physiology, electrophysiological equipment and electronic principles.

  • Ability to interpret and evaluate clinical data and information.

  • Ability to work independently, self-directed and can effectively lead clinical inter-professional teams.

  • Well-developed ability to organize daily departmental activities and priorities.

  • Demonstrated commitment to professional development and learning.

  • Analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills.

  • Demonstrated strong patient and customer focused philosophy in all interactions.

  • Effective communications using timely, appropriate written, verbal and non-verbal means.
