We are excited to offer a position for a full time EMG technologist in our private office of two physiatrists, a physiotherapist, and an EMG technologist. We work in Vernon, BC in the Okanagan Valley. The focus of our medical practice includes focal peripheral neuropathies, MSK and interventional pain management. We routinely use neuromuscular ultrasound in our clinical practice. You will be taught how use diagnostic ultrasound and incorporate it into the EDX lab. Candidates will have completed undergraduate degree and have completed or be eligible to sit a certification examination in nerve conduction studies (ABEM CNCT, BRETC, etc)
Remuneration will be commensurate with your experience and qualifications ($29-35/hr)

Reporting to the Coordinator, CNS Ambul Care & EMU, the Electromyography (EMG) Technician, in conjunction with the consultant physician, determines the type and extent of testing necessary to provide the most complete and accurate diagnostic results based on factors such as patient history and symptoms, tests requested by referring physician and relevant pre-existing diseases or conditions. The EMG Technician operates and troubleshoots the EMG equipment to obtain, interpret and communicate these Nerve Conductions/EMG results to the consultant physician who is supervising the lab that particular day.
The Technician must evaluate and assess each patient's physical condition and degree of comfort throughout the testing process, rendering physical assistance where necessary to prevent undue discomfort during the test and providing physical assistance for patients with limited mobility to assume proper positions for the testing.
Rate of Pay: $31.63 per hour - $36.41 per hour
Duration: May 28, 2020 - May 14, 2021
