We are excited to offer a position for a full time EMG technologist in our private office of two physiatrists, a physiotherapist, and an EMG technologist. We work in Vernon, BC in the Okanagan Valley. The focus of our medical practice includes focal peripheral neuropathies, MSK and interventional pain management. We routinely use neuromuscular ultrasound in our clinical practice. You will be taught how use diagnostic ultrasound and incorporate it into the EDX lab. Candidates will have completed undergraduate degree and have completed or be eligible to sit a certification examination in nerve conduction studies (ABEM CNCT, BRETC, etc)

Remuneration will be commensurate with your experience and qualifications ($29-35/hr)

Temporary - Registered EMG Technician - EMG University Hospital, London, Ontario

Reporting to the Coordinator, CNS Ambul Care & EMU, the Electromyography (EMG) Technician, in conjunction with the consultant physician, determines the type and extent of testing necessary to provide the most complete and accurate diagnostic results based on factors such as patient history and symptoms, tests requested by referring physician and relevant pre-existing diseases or conditions. The EMG Technician operates and troubleshoots the EMG equipment to obtain, interpret and communicate these Nerve Conductions/EMG results to the consultant physician who is supervising the lab that particular day.

The Technician must evaluate and assess each patient's physical condition and degree of comfort throughout the testing process, rendering physical assistance where necessary to prevent undue discomfort during the test and providing physical assistance for patients with limited mobility to assume proper positions for the testing.

 

Rate of Pay:       $31.63 per hour - $36.41 per hour

Duration:            May 28, 2020 - May 14, 2021

 

Qualifications:

  • Successful completion of an undergraduate degree in a related area of study (ie: Kinesiology, Health Sciences, Electrophysiology)
  • Certification from the Board of Registered Electromyography Technologists of Canada (B.R.E.T.C)
  • Minimum 2 years’ paediatric electromyography experience including neonatal electromyography
  • Demonstrated experience in XLTeck EMG equipment preferred
  • Demonstrated experience with evoked potentials
  • Well-developed patient assessment, planning, intervention, critical thinking and evaluation skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to recognize own feelings, express them fully and constructively manage own feelings in challenging and emotionally charged situations
  • Ability to express ideas clearly, confidently and directly and work through conflicts and differences in a respectful way

Immunization Requirements:

  • Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps, rubella and varicella (chicken pox), Hepatitis B, Tetanus/ Diphtheria/Polio; Meningitis. 
  • Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing (two step)

Trillium Neurology Consultants is seeking a Fulltime EEG and EMG technologist.

The candidate must be a graduate from an accredited EEG/EMG program and is either registered in both EMG/EEG disciplines or be eligible for registration with the BRETC/CBRET. 
 
The EEG/EMG candidate will perform EEGs independently, be comfortable with nerve conduction studies. There will be an opportunity to improve skill set by acquiring EMG technique under direct supervision by the clinician, and future growth includes integration of neuromuscular ultrasound.
 
Hours: Full Time 75-80 hours bi-weekly 
 
Vacation: 6 weeks 
 
Salary: 30-35 $/hr - moving expenses are provided.

Technologists with 3 or more years experience salary: 35-38 $/hr.
